Our journey
Our journey began at the University of São Paulo, Brazil's premier research and higher education institution, where Carbonic was founded. We actively participate in applied research projects at the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI) and the Institute of Chemistry, driving innovation in our field.
With expertise in catalysis and process intensification, our technical team is at the forefront of research and development. They are supported by a network of scientific advisors and board members who contribute invaluable insights and guidance.

Carbonic aspires to be one of the global leaders in the Carbon Capture and Utilization market segment. To achieve this, we stared by developing our proprietary technology CO2 to methanol at a pilot plant scale. The applications of green methanol are diverse. It can be used as a fuel or fuel additive, particularly in transportation sectors such as shipping, where it can replace traditional marine fuels. Green methanol is also gaining attention as a promising energy storage solution, as it can be used in fuel cells and as a hydrogen carrier. Additionally, it has potential applications in the chemical industry as a feedstock for the production of various chemicals and materials.
